At work we have a candy bowl…. I pass it on my way into work every morning and it is HORRIBLE. The hardest thing to say no to right in my face every morning. And if I by chance make it passed with not eating any of the candy I think of it all day. Sugar really is addictive! And it tastes so good. So I am getting ready for the holiday season by not eating candy every day. I have made 2 days in a row with no candy from the candy bowl. My next goal….3 days hopefully I will get there next week but for now… I had a couple candy corns right after I took the pic lol
I am coming up on my 6 weeks since surgery (Monday is the day) and the food restrictions come off!!! What would you eat? I am planning out my food for next week and I am getting excited. Top of the list is steak! I am thinking Chipolte steak taco (probably just one 😉 If I had all the money in the world it would be Texas Roadhouse! Ummmmmm Steak good stuff…
Also… Ice cream sundaes ummmmm ice cream
I am nervous about trying to figure out what to eat now. They have been great at telling me every step of the way so I am hoping that they give good advice and ideas. Also considering going to a support group for Sleevers to explore this new and wonderous world and so it begins….
So they told me between weeks 3 – 6 my weight loss would stall… and here it is… It blows chunks!!! I think this is the part where people start to think “why the h-e-double hockey sticks did I do this???” I am eating nothing but protein and at that only 4 oz and I am losing NOTHING it’s not fair!!!!! (That was my two year old whiny voice right there!)
food is about the same
– chicken salad (with avocado because who just wants canned chicken and mayo??)
– pudding (because I can)
– black beans and ground beef (with a little cheese melted on it)
– Refried beans
– greek yogurt
Glad I don’t really get bored of food…. ok I get a little bored but what’s a girl to do, I don’t want to work at it 😉
I am drinking lots of water and working out (shooting for 5 times a week!)
On Saturday I start my clear liquids leading up to surgery. For two days I get to “eat” only things that you can see through…. So for two days I get to eat broth, Jello (yipee), and Isopure with apple juice as a topper! I have to actually make it through a day of work and a day off (where I will be packing everything for the hospital and the week after). Probably sleeping a lot to get my mind off the fact that I am not eating properly!!
It has also been quite the money adventure. My liquid vitamins were approximately $100 and just spent another $50 on my clear liquids! It will be about $75 for the week after surgery (actually pretty good for a week’s worth of food) and then the fun starts.
I have had all my “lasts” pretty much getting in crazy things like brie and a loaf of bread, or Italian Nachos from Old Chicago, Noodles and Co (and I can now see why I am fat 😉 ), cheesecake and cupcakes are also on the list; and yes I did gain another 7 lbs gearing up for surgery!!
As a “Fat” girl I love my sweets and could use easy good delicious substitutes and don’t feel like there really is anything that will take their place. However there is the possibility that I could find something to tide me over MOST of the time and have the treats be rare!! I figure …. start by replacing the biggest calorie things and work my way down to the really healthy stuff!! This might just be the first step….
Pintrest has these many “ice cream” recipes that use bananas. I never thought that they would be so good!! My only change would be to peel the banana before freezing them 😉 ….. I can not wait to do this more!!!
Not fabulously and definitely not for anyone for Kevin as he isn’t picky at all 😉 but I have always wanted to be a good cook and have started more than once down that road…. well with pintrest I am succeeding …. yay!
I have made another pintrest meal…. buttered beef!! SO good. I am really excited to get to cook so much these days. I am going to have to get better at figuring out how much food I eat in a week though. I spent $100 on food last week!!! That seems a bit much …. however I think that is going to last mostly until next paycheck!!
Also my “creative” thing for this month is my family calendar… almost complete (and it is only the 6th) yes I am amazing!!! a good start to the year and to the month.
Ok so I have a week to get organized. I will be without a car. So I have to figure out what i am going to do!! I mean… I will probably only be able to shop about once a week. Sooooo a weeks worth of food. I think that is the biggest thing. I am quite nervous. I am going to even be working from home. I am SO lucky to be able to do that since I don’t currently have a car but I have NEVER had to do that before. This is going to be an interesting adventure!!
It’s kind of funny because I have been planning on becoming a better cook and eating from home more often. It is funny how wanting to do those things works into all of the sudden I HAVE to do them… I guess the best way to learn is to jump in with two feet!!
